Q1: What do you do / what is your business?

I am a coach, speaker, author, entertainer, trainer, and show host. Quite a mouthful, but it actually all works together very nicely, as everything I do is about helping people to transform their deepest fears into their greatest strengths, and those are the different avenues I use to reach people. Phobias, confidence, stage fright, all that sort of stuff.

Q2: Why did you need a CRM? 

I need to be able to keep track of a variety of people, as leads, customers, clients, interested parties, and those with a general curiosity about what I do and who want the occasional hint or tip. Some people want regular updates; some need information relevant to the service they have bought; others ask for one or more of my free gifts, and I need to be able to send them the gift, to check they got it, and to bring their attention over time to a few of the key points so they get the most from it.

All in all, I have to track a lot of different people in a lot of different ways! 

Q3: Why did you choose ZBS CRM (and, what others did you consider / use before)

In a previous role, I made extensive use of InfusionSoft for my employer.Yes it is a powerful CRM, but my word is it a pain to use! User Friendly is NOT the word to describe it – death by poor UI is more appropriate, alas.

And for all its power, there are a surprising number of fairly basic things it just plain won’t let you do. Not to mention it is expensive.

So when I was looking for my own CRM, InfusionSoft was right out. Looking around, I did spend some time using Active Campaign which was OK, and pretty powerful for mail campaigns, but a bit more limited for more general CRM functionality.

Then I spotted ZBS CRM, tried it out, and loved it.

The key things for me were –

  • Very cost-competitive
  • Good balance of power and ease-of-use
  • Support was excellent – emails and questions were always replied to quickly, efficiently, and in a friendly manner

I love that it integrates so tightly with my website, which makes it easier for me, and makes my clients’ experience smoother too.* The ZBS philosophy works very well – just the core functionality, no wasting time with pointless fluff. Love it!

Q4: How has using ZBS CRM helped your business?

It’s helped me see just where income is coming from. It’s helped me to create a much better experience for my customers when they claim free gifts, so they are fully supported the whole way through. It also enables me to share relevant juicy nuggets, tips, and interesting info with the right subset of people, rather than blasting it all to everyone.

Finally, It makes funnels much easier to implement and track. It keeps me far better organised!

Q5: Which ZBS CRM extensions do you use? and why.
I have the Entrepreneur pack so I have access to everything, and the main ones I use are –

  • Mail Campaigns V2 (I got access to the beta – yay) perfect for a lot of different mail campaigns, triggered when people claim a gift, or make a purchase, etc.
  • Invoice Pro – Means I no longer have to use an external package to create invoices. Easier for me, and the result fits nicely within the branding.
  • Stripe and PayPal connector – great for bringing in existing client info from those two payment processors, so everyone is in the one system.
  • Sales Dashboard – gives a comprehensive and useful overview of where everything and everybody is at.

I’m now starting to explore Automations, Advanced Segments, and Client Portal Pro and I expect I will be making good use of those in a short time.

ZBS CRM was extremely easy to install and very quick to configure – no having to spend days and weeks trying to figure out how things work, it’s up and running in virtually no time at all.
